Hi! My name is Scott Austin, and like you, I love the pug breed.
Twenty years ago, for the fun of it, I drew a funny cartoon of Lucy, my goofy black pug. I had just launched my greeting card company, SNAFU Cards, which features my cartoon drawings and one day while I was designing a new card, staring up at me from below my drawing table was Lucy’s funny face. So I drew it.
After drawing her “portrait”, I thought it would be fun to print it on t-shirts or coffee mugs (I also drew a fawn version)… but like so many other things I’ve wanted to do, life got in the way, and the idea fell by the wayside.
Fast forward 20 years…
A few months ago, I was going though an old box of my cartoons and I came across that silly portrait of Lucy’s “mug”. I thought, better late than never!
Why not finally offer that image on t-shirts with various funny sayings and see if any pug lovers like them? So that’s what I’m doing! I’m using Printful, a "print on demand" company known for producing high quality products (I ordered samples to check out their quality for myself and it's excellent).
I’m finally putting “PugMugs” out into the world to see what happens! Old dreams don’t have to die, they might take a 20 year nap, but they don’t have to die!
